COVID-19 Testing in Palm Beach County

Urgent Care of the Palm Beaches offers COVID-19 testing at all three Palm Beach County locations, seven days a week with no appointment. Walk in for a rapid test when you need an answer quickly, or a PCR test when you need the more sensitive result.

Testing options

  • Rapid antigen test, results in about 15 minutes
  • PCR test for higher sensitivity
  • Antibody test to check for past exposure
  • Return-to-work and travel clearance letters

1. A NASOPHARYNGEAL SWAB TEST, also called a Polymerase Chain Reaction or PCR test.

This test determines if an individual is CURRENTLY INFECTED with the corona virus.

Patients who have or had symptoms (eg. sore throat, cough, fever, chest pain, shortness of breath, etc.) at any time during past 2 weeks should have this test done.

To do this test in our facility, you can call us or go online to make a Telemedicine Appointment.

Once that is completed, you will be asked to come in to any of our locations to have a Curbside Nasal swab done. This will be done while you are in your car and the results may take up to seven days to come back.

WE ARE THE ONLY URGENT CARE THAT OFFERS THE TELEMEDICINE / CURBSIDE TESTING.

All costs INCLUDING any copays are covered 100% by all insurances.

Therefore, there is no cost to you.

2. IgG ANTIBODY TEST for immunity.

This test is to determine if an individual had been exposed to the COVID-19 any time in the past and if their body has made antibodies against the virus. This test may show immunity to the COVID-19.

This test is for patients with NO SYMPTOMS FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS.

This test requires a blood draw, which will be done in our clinic.

All costs INCLUDING any copays are covered 100% by all insurances.

Therefore, there is no cost to you.

3. Rapid COVID-19 Antigen test.

This is also a nasal swab test that is collected and test is run on site with the results returning in 15 minutes. This is not a PCR test.

Results are for the identification of SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antigen. Positive results indicate the presence of viral antigens, but clinical correlation with patient history and other diagnostic information is necessary to determine infection status. Positive results do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. The agent detected may not be the definite cause of disease. Laboratories within the United States and its territories are required to report all positive results to the appropriate public health authorities.

Negative results should be treated as presumptive, do not rule out SARS-CoV-2 infection and should not be used as the sole basis for treatment or infection control decisions. Negative results should be considered in the context of recent exposures, history and the presence of clinical signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19, and confirmed with a molecular assay if needed.

In the United States, the BD Veritor System for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2 is only for use under the Food and Drug Administration’s Emergency Use Authorization.

For Employers:

We offer two types of tests at our facility:

  1. Employee screening test (screening for COVID-19 virus)
  2. Employee immunity status (screening for antibodies)

For employers: we can test on site for larger teams. Call the clinic to arrange it. Keep the medical disclaimer at the bottom of the page.

We do issue return to work clearances for employees, who were suspected to have tested positive for COVID-19 virus.

Our staff are well trained in following strict CDC guidelines with full PPE and other safety procedures.

Please call or go online to make an appointment.

Please be advised, that the COVID-19 antibody (IgG) test, provides insight to an individual’s prior exposure to the virus and the potential for protective immunity. However some recent evidence suggests that some patients with positive IgG had re-infection with COVID-19 virus. Therefore, we suggest all patients follow strict CDC guidelines, even if they have a positive IgG to COVID-19.
